How long does a typical hypnosis therapy session last?
Our hypnosis therapy sessions last one hour and consist of three parts. In the first twenty minutes, we will discuss hypnosis – what it is and what it isn’t. This gives you a valuable overview of the hypno-therapy process which helps alleviate any anxieties, particularly for those new to hypnosis. Hypno-therapy results (behavior changes) are proven to be even more pronounced when the participant is both educated and comfortable. For the second part of the session, we will identify solutions to your specific issues which can range from stress or anger management to a behavior change such as stopping smoking. This is a collaborative effort with input by both the participant and hypno-therapist. The third part of the session contains the mental exercises necessary for your body and mind to relax and implement the solutions that we have developed.

What if I can’t be hypnotized?
Anyone can be hypnotized! It only requires a willingness to take your life in a positive direction. Everyone has experienced some form of hypnosis; it is a natural state of mind. You may have felt this during the day when you go into a “zone” during any activity (driving, walking, cooking, etc.) or at night, just before you fall asleep. Hypno-therapy works with this natural, relaxed, open state of mind to empower yourself and change behaviors. And behaviors can be changed very quickly because we do not focus on the past and do not assign labels or blame.

Will I be in control while hypnotized?
Absolutely. A hypno-therapist can’t make you do anything that is not part of your value system. Although you are very physically relaxed, your mind is awake and alert. You are always in control, which allows our suggestions to penetrate even more effectively.

Will I be asleep while hypnotized?
Although you will feel physically asleep, you will remain mentally alert for the entire hypnosis session. Many describe the feeling as that of a restful and peaceful dream.

How will I feel after the hypnotherapy session ends?
You’ll feel refreshed, focused and energized, as if you have just awoken from a very deep and restful night’s sleep. Many clients report that they feel more relaxed than they had in a long time.

Can I get a CD recording of the Hypnotherapy session?
Yes, I am happy to provide a CD recording of the last twenty minutes (the hypnosis portion) of the session if you feel it would be beneficial in reinforcing the solution.

Do you accept health insurance?
No. Eliminating insurance companies protects your privacy.

How many issues can you cover in one Hypnosis therapy session?
We can comfortably address two issues per session. Please keep in mind that multiple issues often stem from one common problem. For example, instead of thinking of financial problems, relationship issues, and smoking, why not focus on managing stress instead?

How Many Hypnotherapy Sessions Will I Need?
The number of sessions needed depends greatly on the individual and the change they want to take place. Everybody is unique, and though one individual may experience the same issues as several others, how they perceive things and the degree to which those issues affect them is completely unique to that individual. Our approach to Hypno-Therapy is to make it convenient for your schedule. So you are free to come and go as you please.
